Ife Jie is a native of South Central Los Angeles and brings a unique African sensibility, pride and aesthetic that has transformed her art as a Hip Hop artist, activist, performer, mistress of ceremony and scholar. The first lady of the RBG camp, Ife Jie represents for the ladies with her gangsta but feminine style to rap. She has appeared on countless mixtapes and albums with artist Stic Man of Dead Prez, the Dare 2 Struggle Compilation Tribute to 2pac Shakur and Tahir RBG of the RBG Nation. 

As a host, Ife Jie most recently served as mistress of ceremony for the Juneteenth Annual Parade and Festival, the 30th Annual Malcolm X Festival, and the Nipsey Hussle Celebration of Life Street Tribute. 

As a scholar, Ife Jie has extensively worked within Hip Hop at Georgia State University and currently at UCLA on research to propose the term Hip Hopcentricity, an inclusive term used to refer to Hip Hop’s influence in urban classrooms and introduce the 6th element of Hip Hop “hustling”  or urban entrepeneurship.  With her recent work both within Hip Hop music and Hip Hop scholarhsip, IFe JIe is striving to continue the legacy of those who have bridged the gap between street culture, Hip Hop, activism and scholarship.
